Chennai Open Squash Championship 20102-11 March 2010The Tamilnadu Squash Rackets Association under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India will be organising the CHENNAI OPEN SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 from 2-11 March 2010 at the Indian Squash Academy, Chennai. The Tamilnadu Squash Rackets Association (TNSRA) stands out as the most 'squash active' state in India. The Indian Squash Academy, center of excellence of the SRFI and the venue for the Chennai Open boasts of two complexes; one with a 3 glass back rainbow courts convertible to 2 doubles courts and the other a state of the art centre with 4 glass back rainbow courts that are also convertible to 2 doubles courts. The showcase of the centre is of course the ASB 4-sided glass court having a seating capacity of 500. The Indian Squash Academy has produced many champions both in domestic & international tournaments over the past decade, such as Saurav Ghosal, Harinderpal Singh, Joshana Chinappa, Dipika Pallikal, Anwesha Reddy and Anaka Alankamony. The TNSRA also has an active school coaching program where children from around the city participate. The TNSRA along with the Squash Rackets Federation of India will be organising the Chennai Open as part of their preparation for the Commonwealth Games 2010. This will comprise the following. There will be 3 categories (men’s, women’s & mixed) in this event. It will be played immediately after the PSA & WISPA events carrying a prize fund of US$ 15,000.
